TobiWan and Capitalist Will Be Casting For The Masters

May 17, 2017

In the meantime the community wishes Sheever the best on her recovery

Veteran Dota 2 talents Toby "TobiWan" Dawson and Austin "Capitalist" Walsh will be joining the talents of the EN broadcast team for the Manila Masters. Both Tobi and Capitalist are veteran esports casters and are staple talents of nearly every premier Dota 2 LAN.

"There are so many teams looking to prove their stuff at the Manila Masters and those looking to hold onto their titles, it should be amazing and creative Dota that I am excited to cast. I always thought the crowds of SEA were the best in the world when it came to commentating in front of, then I met the Filipino crowd and it got taken to a whole new level. There is a great buzz you get from casting Dota in front of a passionate crowd: during ESL One Manila and the Manila Major I learnt that in that regard, the Pinoys are hard to beat," TobiWan told us. "For everyone at the MOA arena come and say hi, I won't bite, only hug! For all watching from home enjoy the stream and drink the hype."

Capitalist agrees: "Ever since ESL One Manila & the Manila Major, I've held the SEA audience as the best Dota fans to have in the stadium. They're energetic, loud and full of memes. The kind of audience that every commentator or analyst relishes hearing during an intense match. I want all the fans watching the Manila Masters bring all that passion that the SEA region is renowned for and make this a very special event."

On a more somber note, Owen "ODPixel" Davies and Jorien "Sheever" van der Heijden will be backing out of the Manila Masters. Sheever's cancellation is due to a personal, medical issue and she will be on hiatus from live events for the meantime.

"I'm very excited to be returning to Manila; I only wish it was under better circumstances. Sheever will surely be missed at this event by the fans and talent alike. I will try my best to match the professionalism, positivity and fun she brings to every desk she's on, as that is exactly what the fans at the Manila Masters deserve," Capitalist added.

The Manila Masters team, along with the Dota 2 community supports Sheever's decision and wishes her all the best in her recovery.
